Quilt Show Judges

We are excited to announce the judges for our “Autumn Leaves” 2017 Quilt Show:

KATHI EUBANK

Kathi Eubank has been working in judging rooms – local to national – for several years and is a National Association of Certified Quilt Judges (NACQJ) certified quilt judge. For over ten years she worked on the show committee for Machine Quilters Showcase (MQS®) where she was Judging Room Coordinator from 2011-2016. Kathi also served on the Board of Directors for International Machine Quilters Association from 2014-2016 and was Managing Editor of On Track! Magazine from 2011 to 2016. She is Past President of the Central Arkansas Longarm Association and currently serves as Treasurer and on the Board of Directors of the Hot Springs Village Quilt Guild.

Kathi is a national award-winning longarm quilter who applies her knowledge and expertise in quilting when judging. Her attention to detail allows her to efficiently evaluate the quilts that she judges while taking into consideration that each and every quilt is special to its maker. Kathi also offers guild lectures and classes on what a judge looks for when examining a quilt and what it takes to become an award-winning quilter.

Kathi and her husband live high in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains of central Arkansas. They enjoy travelling around the world during which time Kathi can be found sketching out patterns found in architecture that she then incorporates into her quilting designs.

JUDY TAYLOR

Judy Taylor is certified by the National Quilting Association (NQA) and the National Association of Certified Quilt Judges (NACQJ). To date, she has judged more than 8,000 quilts on a local, regional, national and international level. She has met the requirements of both NQA and NACQJ to evaluate Master Quilts and is a Qualified Instructor for the Two-Day Introduction to Judging, sponsored by the NACQJ.

Being an NQA Certified Judge allows Judy to pursue her passion and joy for all things quilting, especially having the opportunity to learn from quilters across the U.S. She strongly believes in judging fairly across all types of categories and prides herself on always providing constructive, meaningful, and supportive judging comments.

Judy is the Past President of the National Quilting Association, Inc., the Arizona Quilters Guild and the Arizona Longarm Quilters. She was also the Co-Director of the 2012-2013 NQA Annual Quilt Show.

Judy lives with her husband and their Scottish terrier, Dylan, in Scottsdale, AZ. They love to travel in their motorhome, stopping at quilt shows and shops along the way.
